Storm Water Report

Take a look at this presentation made to Winfield village board in January, 2011 by members of the Storm Water Commission.

A few interesting facts from the presentation about our community:

  • Winfield is part of the DesPlaines River watershed which includes  Winfield Creek and the West Branch DuPage River.
  • The West Branch (Winfield area) watershed covers 127 square miles at the confluence with the East Branch DuPage River which flows into the DuPage River.
  • The DuPage Forest Preserve owns land in the floodplain, which helps reduce damage due to flooding.
  • The Winfield Creek Watershed includes portions of Winfield, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Glendale Heights, and Wheaton.
