CVS Pharmacy Site of Armed Robbery NEWS

Winfield – On May 23rd at approximately 2 p.m., the Winfield Police Department responded to an Armed Robbery that just occurred at CVS Pharmacy located in the 27W200 block of Geneva Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed the offender described as a male white, late 20’s to mid 30’s wearing dark pants and jacket, a baseball cap with a dark colored wig. The offender, armed with a handgun entered the pharmacy and demanded a pharmaceutical product. He then fled the scene northbound on Pleasant Hill Road in what was described as a metallic blue compact pick up truck possibly a Ford Ranger.

During the course of this investigation, the Winfield Police Department conducted a lockdown of area schools for approximately 60 minutes.

The Winfield Police Department was assisted by the Carol Stream, West Chicago, and Warrenville Police Departments as well as he DuPage County Sheriff’s Department.

Armed Robbery is a Class X Felony punishable by a mandatory minimum prison term of 6 to 30 years.
